TURKEY - ISTANBUL,TAKSIM SQUARE
TURKEY - ISTANBUL,TAKSIM SQUARE
Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye), known officially as the Republic of Turkey ( Türkiye Cumhuriyeti (help·info)), is a Eurasian country that stretches across the Anatolian peninsula in western Asia and Thrace (Rumelia) in the Balkan region of southeastern Europe. Turkey is bordered by eight countries: Bulgaria to the northwest; Greece to the west; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia, Azerbaijan (the exclave of Nakhichevan) and Iran to the east; and Iraq and Syria to the southeast. To its southwest lie the Mediterranean Sea and Cyprus; to the west, the Aegean Sea and Archipelago; and to the north, the Black Sea. Separating Anatolia and Thrace are the Sea of Marmara and the Turkish Straits (the Bosporus and the Dardanelles). In Western tradition, these bodies of water taken together have been considered the border between Europe and Asia, thereby making Turkey transcontinental. Due to its location astride two continents, Turkey's culture blends Eastern and Western elements. Geopolitically, it has been a dominant regional power for over seven centuries. Today's Turkey is the successor to the Ottoman Empire. Turkey is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic whose political system was established in 1923 under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, following the fall of the Ottoman Empire in the aftermath of World War I. Since then, Turkey has become increasingly integrated with the West through membership in organizations such as the Council of Europe, NATO, OECD ...

Designwalk 2011 Istanbul
Designwalk 2011 Istanbul
I hit myself to road with more than 60 designers in Istanbul. It was the 2nd Design Walk organization by a design group TASA and it was a nice trial for the designer on the road project. I walked all day long with many great graphic and industrial designers. We walked for rising social credit of graphic design in Turkey. Prof. Hasip Pektaş was also there and when he heard about my world travel plan with no money, he gave me some pocket money and said keep it for the worst times. I tried everything not to take that money but he insisted a lot. At the end I said ok. I will keep it for the worst times. I hope I won't need it anytime and use it to get a present from him from China. See more stuff from www.facebook.com or www.designerontheroad.com
